New Music: Jaden Smith - 'LABOR V2'

  /  07.08.2016

Jaden Smith celebrates his 18th birthday by going to work.

The self-proclaimed Calabasas Kingpin has unleashed “LABOR V2.” On the free-flowing single, he calls himself a Black Panther and raps about racism.

“How many times am I tellin’ ’em?” asks the face of Louis Vuitton. “Just because you see the melanin / Doesn’t mean that I’m a felon / I’m here to show you the intelligence / What is the bullshit you’re sellin’ ’em / They just want us in jail and then / They can take away our right to vote and use the free labor.”

Jaden is also hard at work on his upcoming album, which he rhymes about on the track. “Man, I need to finish my album,” he says on the opening verse.

Beyond that, Smith is set to star in Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming musical drama “The Get Down,” which premieres Aug. 12 on Netflix.
