T-Pain & Lil Wayne Drop 'T-Wayne' Album

  /  05.18.2017

T-Wayne lives! Out of nowhere (and appropriately on Throwback Thursday), T-Pain digs in the vault and unearths T-Wayne, his long-awaited collaborative album with Lil Wayne. The project, which was first announced nearly a decade ago, has been sitting on T-Pain’s hard drive since 2009.

“This ain’t for y’all new niggas. These the lost files from ’09 and I’m tired of em just sittin on my hard drive. #FreeC5,” he tweeted.

The eight-track set kicks off with “He Rap He Sang” and features the tag team of Teddy P and Tunechi on unreleased songs like “DAMN DAMN DAMN,” “Waist of a Wasp,” and “Snap Ya Fangas.”

After forming their duo in 2008, T-Pain and Lil Wayne dropped several collaborations and announced plans for a full album. But following Wayne’s release from jail in 2010, the project was scrapped. “When [Wayne] got into his little trouble, that was right at the peak of when we was like, ‘OK, let’s go. Let’s do this now.’ He finally had time, then he went to jail,” T-Pain told Rap-Up TV in 2011.

But now it finally sees the light of day. “It probably is meant to happen now ’cause the songs were so now,” Pain said in 2014. “The kind of music that people are dropping now, we was making that so long ago. I guess it was ahead of its time. It wasn’t supposed to happen.”

At long last, stream T-Wayne below.
