DJ Khaled Snapchats Birth of His Son

New baby alert! DJ Khaled and his fiancée Nicole Tuck welcomed a baby boy early Sunday (Oct. 23). And yes, it was all captured on Snapchat.

It was, as the new dad put it, “a process to progress.” Over the course of 10 hours, Khaled filmed his reactions to news that the baby wasn’t ready to be delivered yet.

“I always thought as soon as the water breaks and the queen gets contractions the icon comes out,” he wrote on Snap. “There’s no shortcuts to greatness.”

Nervousness nearly got the best of him during that process. “My nerves are bad, man,” he told the doctor. But to calm his nerves, Khaled had a special playlist that included Lauryn Hill’s “To Zion,” Bob Marley’s “Put It On,” and his own medley of “I Got the Keys,” “Nas Album Done,” and “For Free.”

When his son finally arrived, Khaled filmed his reaction. As the baby’s cries were heard, Khaled simply thanked God. Later, his eyes got watery with tears of joy.

In June, Khaled promised he would Snapchat the delivery if given the chance. “I’m going to talk to the doctor,” he told Jimmy Kimmel. “If the doctor says everything is gonna run smooth, meaning that we wanna make sure that the queen is right and my son is right, if it’s running smooth where I can just do my thing, I’ma Snapchat the whole thing.”
