New Music: A$AP Twelvyy feat. A$AP Rocky - 'Diamonds'
It’s A$AP Twelvyy’s time to shine. Before dropping his debut album 12, the Harlem rapper enlists fellow Mob member A$AP Rocky for “Diamonds,” the latest single off his forthcoming project.
The airy instrumental makes way for Twelvyy to spit about his Bad Boy ways. “Pissing in the elevator, still don’t give a fuck,” he raps. “Gold grill, black mesh, still ain’t switching up / Remember ni**as called me Diddy, I was wreaking havoc / Threw the Glock up in the river, it was too dramatic.”
Pretty Flacko joins in, pulling no punches with some bars about the rap game. “I’ve seen some shit you won’t believe that made me leave the scene,” he raps. “Appreciate the late rappers, paved-the-way rappers / I think back to back packers in the wave cappers / ‘Cause now I hate rappers, hate today’s rappers / Hate these fake rappers.”
“Diamonds” follows “Strapped” as a single off his upcoming debut album, Shining, due Aug. 4. Upon announcing the album, he declared: “It’s been a longtime coming. I did my time in the shadows. I am next. I am now. I am forever.”
