Rick Ross Strikes Plea Deal in Kidnapping Case

  /  04.05.2017

Nearly two years after being locked up on kidnapping and pistol-whipping charges, Rick Ross has struck a plea deal in the case.

Appearing in Fayette County court on Tuesday (April 4), Ross was facing kidnapping, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and other charges. However, his plea deal helped him reduce his potential punishment, according to TMZ.

As part of the deal, Ross pled no contest to one felony count of aggravated assault. His other felony charges were dropped. He was sentenced to time served—a week—and he paid a $10,000 fee. Since Ross is being sentenced as a first time felony offender, his $10,000 fine will scrub the conviction from his record.

Ross also pled no contest to five misdemeanors, including assault, battery, two counts of pointing a pistol at a person, and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. He was sentenced to 60 months probation, though his travel will be unrestricted.

In June of 2015, Ross was arrested for allegedly kidnapping and pistol whipping a groundskeeper at his Florida mansion. Since then, the rapper has been walking around with an ankle monitor, though it was recently removed.

Outside of legal issues, Rozay is thriving. He recently released Rather You Than Me and announced his 10th album, Port of Miami 2: Born to Kill, in addition to working on an independent film with Gucci Mane.
