Well Tre, I just posted something, I don’t think it went through, I’m try and post this message again. I’m not a huge fan of either Kim, or Nicki, but I have to be honest with my opinion. I think Kim is killing her career by beefing with Nicki. You brought up the fact that Kim battled 2Pac during the Eastcoast/Westcoast beef in the 90s. The last time I check, if you were to ask professional music critics and unbiased music fans, they would tell you that 2Pac and Outlawz killed Lil Kim, Junior Mafia, and Mobb Deep on Hit Em Up. There is nothing for Lil Kim to be proud of to be remembered for being destroyed by 2Pac and Outlawz on Hit Em Up. There were plenty of male rappers, and female rappers who were just as good, and even better than Kim in the 90s and early 2000s. Lauryn Hill’s work with the Fugees beats any Lil Kim album out there. Lauryn Hill, Missy Ellott, Foxy Brown, and MC Lyte were far more lyrical assassins and better artists than Lil Kim back in the 90s and early 2000s.

Keep in mind Tre, there are haters and non-haters of Kim who believe that B.I.G. and Diddy wrote Kim’s lyrics for her classic Hardcore Album. So nobody can act like Kim invented female rap, because there are some question marks about her battle skills as well. Before Nicki became famous, Lil Kim was already famous, but she went to jail for a while. When you haven’t made an album in 4 to 5 years, you can’t assume that no one would take that spot away from Kim. Before Kim became famous in the late 90s, Salt-N-Pepa had the female spot on lock. Queen Latifah was doing her thing for a while as well. So Nicki don’t owe Lil Kim a thank you card, for the simple reason that there were female rappers who came out before Kim did, and made an impact on hip hop as well in the early 90s. Nicki sold a million copies, rather you like Nicki, or not, rather you think her album sucks, or not, I think Nicki is going to be around for a while, maybe longer. In order for Kim to get radio play again, she need to make good music and hit songs. If Kim comes out with a new album that gets bad reviews, and don’t sell well, then Kim will be finish. It’s not hating, its all facts, the truth.
