RIP Heavy D. He was so well respected by his peers young and old as we see by these tweets because he was a really nice encouraging person. A true talent in music and acting. I just watched him in some hip hop doc and he would always go back to his hometown in Mt.Vernon and have like cookouts with the community.

Without him Uptown records wouldn’t have been the success it was , and Bad Boy would’n’t have even existed to give us someone like Biggie. People rapping and dancing owe that to acts like him and Big Daddy Kane who made it okay, and he made it okay to talk about the LOVE for women. Wow. Great dude, really sad he died so young.

People never understands me when I say this”I’d rather be a hungry artist but create music that’s gonna be there decades after am gone. Than being Rich and leave music that’s gonna be there 2sec after am gone” but I guess now it makes sense. Heavy D left us with a living legacy of beautiful music. His life is worth being celebrated. R.I.P. Heavy D. Much respect for him because he was one of the first rappers to dance and people still considered him cool. He was smooth and didn’t have to rap about sex, drugs, and violence to be relevant. I send my prayers and condolences to his family.
