Frank Ocean Reveals Lost Nas Song, Makes Beyoncé Cry![]() Frank Ocean has worked with superstars including Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Kanye West, but one collaboration we may never hear is with Nas. The Odd Future crooner reveals a lost record with the hip-hop legend.
In an interview with The New York Times, Ocean says that he and Nas recorded a song called “No Such Thing as White Jesus,” but it was lost due to a technological error. While album deadlines prevented him from recreating it from scratch, he was able to recall some of the lyrics. “Whatever you do, young king, don’t wind up dead,” he sings. “Young queen, cross your legs/ Put a crown on your head and remove the chains/ ‘Cause even diamond chains are for slaves/ Don’t set foot in no penitentiary/ And don’t taste the poison/ Don’t you bail on your families.” He also shared how Beyoncé reacted upon hearing “I Miss You,” the ballad he penned for her album 4. “She came in and heard the song, and she shed a tear and recorded it,” he said, “and I wanted to shed a tear.” Ocean is gearing up for the release of his Def Jam debut Channel Orange on July 17 and will launch a North American tour on July 13. @meme, For some very ODD reason the navy thinks their pot head fave is the “baddest bitch in the game” well if that was so she would vocally give Adele a run for her money, have 16 grammys, a #1 movie, praised by greats, & wouldn’t have 6 flop albums in a ROW. Correct? Correct.
Not only is she 7 years deep in her career & still an under average performer, her education only goes up to the 11th grade which explains the excessive typos in her tweets.
Before you shade anyone, even has beens like Britney Spears & Lil Kim, CHECK what you support!

@tony, if that is what you require a singer does, then yes, she is overrated. But that is exactly the point. She is a singer, and a great one at that. Because she is so succesful, people tend to think that she is overrated. I actually think that people overlook the amount of hard work and discipline that it takes to be Beyoncé and that only Beyoncé can pull that off. It is not realistic to expect her to be able to write, compose and produce. Those are three different crafts and to master them all takes a lot of time. It is possible, but very few can do it. And have you seen this woman perform? I mean, really? Overrated? That does not make any sense.

@lisa I agree with you all, it is hard to master Many a craft, but that’s why the greats are the greats and the stars are only the stars. Singing is equivalent to playing an instrument and beyonce is a good singer and a good performer no doubt. My point though, is that she is not a great creative artist to me. Nothing she sings about and none of her albums break strange creative groound. Some would say *well mariah carey doesn’t really do anything but sing. To them I would say, mariah carey has a better voice than beyonce but doesn’t write her own stuff either (post 98). To be a complete artist to me you have to write at least a better part of your material. Your heart, your soul on that page is what makes you a complete musician. What beyonce does make her a great performer.

@tony, A lot and I mean a lot of Beyonces stage presence, dances, costume and even hair are just based off Tina Turner. Its a weird thing when you think about it. Like people just seem to almost copy other artists…When was the last time someone really created something different?

@tony, I would only correct your assertion that Mariah hasn’t written her own songs since 98. She has collaborated on every single song she ever released that wasn’t a cover, since 1990 to the present day. Of the original songs she’s written her contribution is 100%. Other writers have worked with Mariah, but if Mariah wasn’t in the room, those songs wouldn’t exist. Beyonce changes a word or two or creates a harmony arrangement and gets a writers credit. Frank Ocean’s of I Miss You is identical in lyrics and melody to Beyonce’s. I have no idea what she could’ve contributed to the song, but somehow she got on there as a writer.
the difference with Mariah is,
Mariah since the beginning worked in collaboration with other writers. collaborating with them on melody and lyrics, but she is the creative source. her lyrics and melodies always have come from her and always will.
