J. Cole is back for the second time with “Miss America,” the first single off his sophomore album Born Sinner. The Roc Nation rapper weighs good over evil (“Am I about dollars or about change? Am I about knowledge or about brains?”) on the introspective track, which he calls a public service announcement.
“Only young ni**a do it better than the old ni**as,” raps Cole, who says, “They’ll never play this shit on the radio.”
The self-produced song, which debuts on the second anniversary of his mixtape Friday Night Lights, will be available on iTunes tonight, while the album drops January 28, 2013.
Meh. A step above “Work Out,” which is a good thing b/c it shows he’s not selling out after his debut. However, this will get little to no radio play, which I suppose is okay since Kendrick Lamar proved you don’t need a HOT radio track to sell. Looking forward to the 2nd single already! Cole World!
Hmmm, maybe i nned to listen to it again. I get so hyped over his mixtape songs that when it comes to his offical singles, it dissappoints me.
I’ll try again.
This is a hot song. Not for the radio and I really like the fact that it isn’t. People need to stop whining. Is the song hot? yes, than what is the F***** problem. Does everything have to be radio play to be good.
Why is everyone crying about it doing well on radio? Who the fuck still listens to the radio???? lmao, radio is not that serious in the success of artists in hip hop, J. Cole has an established fan base already

@Jayla, I totally agree… I dont know many people who listen to the radio anymore. Why when we have iTunes, YouTube, Pandora, and other ways to listen to music? People are so full of themselves…. Its a new day and age in music…. Artists arent chasing the radio anymore.
