Tamar Braxton has been making a name for herself on reality TV, starring on WE tv’s “Braxton Family Values” and “Tamar & Vince.” Now the younger sister of Toni shows off her powerful pipes on her new single “Love and War,” proving there’s room for one more Braxton on the charts.
The soulful ballad has received co-signs from Ne-Yo and Lady Gaga, who was discovered by Tamar’s husband Vincent Herbert.
“NEVER PROMOTE ARTISTS but if u want your mind blown check @tamarbraxtonher ‘Love & War’ She’s Toni Braxton sister + her voice is BEYOND,” tweeted the “Born This Way” singer.
The song has already shot to No. 2 on the iTunes Top Singles chart. Listen for yourself below.

It does sound a little similar to KC’s ‘Trust And Believe’ but Tamar has a very different voice then Keyshia Cole, and it seems Tamar wants to carve out a lane for her own. The song is just as good as ‘Trust and Believe’, I’m looking forward to hearing more from Tamar. Go Girl!

as much as i want to like this song, i really don’t. she sounds flat and the production sounds like a demo track. clearly everyone is just excited that she has released a single and that’s cool. i commend her for having the #2 spot on itunes!

But she did her damn thing on this song. Makes me conflicted on whether or not I should support her or not.

Whether the song sounds like Keyshia Cole’s or not doesn’t matter. Tamar vocally out performs Keyshia and brings life to this epic single. Tamar takes the low register of her magnificent sister Toni and then stretches it with a range that is out of this world. Her voice is amazing and always have been, we are just now just taking notice.

This song is absolutely breathtaking. Her vocals are very refreshing. Then when you get into the lyrics, you can not help but to relate. Her raw emotion is a welcomed surprise. For all the naysayers trying to underplay its chart position on itunes, stop it. Y’all been asking for “real” music to get back on the charts and it has arrived. Brilliant Tamar.

Tamar….all I can say is u r a wonderful talent. You are what I call a “sanga”. thank you for bringing back real singing…..without showing off your a**. So many of the entertainers today(notice, I did not say singers) show off their bodies to draw attention away from the fact that they really CANNOT sing.
So thank you for bringing back REAL SINGING…..you have a beautiful, and powerful voice!!!!!!
