First Look: VH1’s Original Movie ‘CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story’

TLC

Over 20 years after making their debut with Ooooooohhh… On the TLC Tip, VH1 is bringing the best-selling female R&B group to the screen in the made-for-TV movie CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.

Lil Mama, KeKe Palmer, and Drew Sidora transform into Left Eye, Chilli, and T-Boz in the scripted film, which chronicles the trio’s rise to fame, their struggles, and the music, which sold 65 million records worldwide.

In the first teaser, the cast recreates the videos for TLC’s hits “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs,” and their resemblance to the original members is uncanny.

Surviving members Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas serve as executive producers of the biopic, which will air on October 21.

Get a first look at the girls as TLC below.

@GirlLetMeTellYou, No TLC is the best selling female r&b girl group they’re ahead of DC by 5 or 10 million. A quick google search does do explain that, there are only 2 pages that might say DC sold more and those comments are by fans.

I still think they need to give it a theatrical release (even if only limited like the Tribe Called Quest movie). TLC was a big enough group to warrant that.

PUT THE MOVIE IN THEATERS…RELEASE IT UNDER THE PARAMOUNT/INSURGE/MTV FILMS BANNER…HAVE SURPRISE HIT.

WOW! I’m impressed with Lil Mama as she is doing the best impersonation of Left Eye. I still think that Chante is a horrible T-Boz character and Keke looks like Chili but Ashley from Fresh Prince would be better

When I first heard about this biopic I didn’t really know what to expect. I knew what KeKe was capable of but Drew and Lil Mama had me a little doubtful. After seeing this preview, I can say that I was pleasantly surprised, especially by Lil Mama’s performance. I can’t wait for the movie to be released so I can get the full effect.

The “Trailer” looks great and the actors so resemble the original TLC Group. From what I saw on the short intro to the movie, I like it. One thing is for sure, you picked three very smart and independent young women to be the TLC originals and that’s a “hit” before the film comes into theaters. I salute the Actors and everyone connected with telling Our Story because WE are a part of all the collective experiences that TLC had as a Big Time Entertaining Group around the World! We must Tell Our Story!!

I doubted Lil Mama, I really did, but she made me proud. Although, she doesn’t resemble left eye like the other girls resemble who they’re portraying, she really brought her character out. I’ll be watching.

    [Reply]

  38. yuck

I’m disgusted the only person who MIGHT be able to actually do a good job is drew sidora

  39. Chiquita T.

I seen the preview as well and I believe the movie is going to be great. Lil mama she looks so much like left eye and sidora looks like tboz, however, I really do not think that keke looks like chilli. I also agree they should have got Titanan Ali from Fresh Prince to play chilli, she resemble her more than keke palmer. I can’t wait unitl the movie comes out and if it comes out on dvd I am definitley going to buy it.
