Anthony Lewis Performs ‘Candy Rain’ on ‘Queen Latifah Show’

Anthony Lewis

With his song gaining spins on radio, Anthony Lewis stopped by “The Queen Latifah Show” this week to perform his remake of Soul for Real’s 1994 hit “Candy Rain.”

Accompanied by rapper Billy Bang, the 17-year-old YouTube sensation made the ladies swoon as he showed off his slick moves inspired by his idol Michael Jackson.

Lewis, whose father was a member of ’90s R&B group Az Yet, first realized his vocal ability at age 6 and decided to share his talent through his YouTube covers of Beyoncé and Frank Ocean.

Watch the rising star make his television debut and check out the official video for “Candy Rain” below.

So it’s basically a mix of Camdy Coated and Who Do You Love? Unoriginal to the max. I can appreciate that it’s a remake of Camdy Coated, but the fact that it’s his debut just screams “try-hard”.

@Rassie_Smith, exactly what I said when I first heard this. I think it is not a good way to debut. He better have a really big followup song. Its almost like Karaoke

@TRP, Well, maybe this kid wants to be a singer because he actually has vocal talent. That’s all I’m gonna say about that.

I’m still trying to figure out why they needed to sample “Im Different” by 2 Chainz of all songs. So random.

Talent maybe Live Vocals No He sounded horrible as many of them do. Now he’s a cute kid but I’m going to see a waaaaaaay better remake if you going to do a classic like Candy Rain in which the original boys set the compo down.

So For Real did it best! They need to try and be “original” for a change. No one is these days just a bunch of people ruining classics to get rich. Enough said!
