Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, Jeezy, & Ludacris Give Back for Christmas

‘Tis the season. Some of hip-hop’s biggest stars spread holiday cheer in their communities by hosting toy drives and concerts.

TDE celebrated an incredible 2014 by throwing a concert and toy giveaway at Nickerson Gardens Projects in Watts, Calif. The free event, which was open to the public, featured performances from the entire TDE crew including Isaiah Rashad, Jay Rock, SZA, Ab-Soul, ScHoolboy Q, and Kendrick Lamar.

Christmas came early to Atlanta on Tuesday when 2 Chainz played Santa Claus and handed out toys during his annual holiday giveaway. He filled two U-Hauls with items and passed them out to the good little girls and boys, while the remainder were donated to his church.

The prior night, 2 Chainz gave out bikes onstage and made a young fan’s wish come true. While headlining Street Execs’ 5th Annual Christmas concert, he brought out a young boy named Antoine, whose Make-A-Wish dream was to meet his favorite rapper. 2 Chainz held his hand as he performed “I’m Different.”

“Last night I had the pleasure of meeting lil Antoine all the way from Minnesota, thanks to the Make a wish Foundation,” said 2 Chainz. “His one wish was to meet me and get a chance to perform with me. Last night his wish came Tru.”

While Chainz was doing good in his ‘hood, his fellow ATLien Jeezy and his Street Dreams Foundation treated 100 inner city kids to a fun-filled day, starting with a private movie screening of Annie, followed by an afternoon of food and gifts at Gio’s restaurant. Jizzle also invited other moviegoers to come see the film on him.

Kris Kringle Chris Bridges aka Ludacris put a smile on the faces of children as he passed out gifts at the local children’s hospital as part of his Ludacris Foundation.

“Right back at it. Childrens Hosptial #2 Visit. We come with Gifts!!! Merry Ludacrismas,” tweeted Luda, who released his EP Burning Bridges earlier this month.

On Sunday, Future hosted a closing party for his 2nd Annual Freebandz Coat Drive, which collected over 300 coats for children in need. During the festivities, which brought out Jeezy and Young Scooter, the kids got to meet Santa and Future and enjoy games and treats like cotton candy.
