Young Thug Launches YSL Records

  /  11.17.2016

Young Thug is a boss. Jeffery has officially launched his YSL Records imprint through 300 Entertainment, with some assistance from Lyor Cohen and Kevin Liles.

Unveiling a new office space for YSL, which stands for Young Stoner Lifestyle, the Atlanta rapper confirmed the news on Wednesday (Nov. 16). While he filmed Liles, the 300 co-founder spoke to members of the staff about what this will mean for the team.

“The most important thing that I could say to all of you guys, is not whether it’s 300 or YSL,” said Liles. “Look at the guy who committed to us every single day…Always staying 300 with us. Him starting a new venture is going to take us to a different mindset. He’s not just an artist in this particular case.”

Cohen also appears in Thug’s Snapchat videos. In one clip, he appears to don a YSL necklace, showing solidarity for his artist’s new imprint.

Complex reports that Duke, a frequent Thugger collaborator, will be on the label, but a roster hasn’t been confirmed yet. Duke recently appeared in Thug’s “Webbie” music video.

Thug might be a boss now, but he’s been quite busy on his own as an artist this year, dropping three projects: I’m Up, Slime Season 3, and JEFFERY. A fourth is reportedly due by the end of the year.
