Tinashe and ScHoolboy Q Get ’2 On’ on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’

Tinashe celebrated the release of Aquarius with an appearance on Thursday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Sporting blue leather sweatpants and a halter top, the L.A. singer showed out with her moves while performing her DJ Mustard-produced single “2 On.” TDE’s ScHoolboy Q joined her to spit his verse on the top 25 hit.

Q’s mother also got some camera time by participating in Kimmel’s recurring “Words From Your Mother” skit. She read the explicit lyrics to his hit “Collard Greens” before proudly declaring, “That’s my baby.”

Later in the evening, Q brought out Tinashe during his show at the Hollywood Bowl.

Keyshia Cole Performs ‘Remember (Part 2)’ on ‘Queen Latifah’

With her album Point of No Return in stores, Keyshia Cole paid a visit to “The Queen Latifah Show” this week. Rocking bold red hair, the Oakland songstress hit the stage to perform her heartfelt ballad “Remember (Part 2)” and sit down for an interview.

She told Queen Latifah that she shot videos for 13 songs off the album, but wasn’t able to film a video for “On Demand” because August Alsina was in the hospital. She was also much more involved in writing this time around.

“I freestyled six songs off this album and co-wrote a few of ‘em, and got a few from songwriters,” said Keyshia, who recently wrapped filming on her BET reality show.

Macklemore and Fences Perform ‘Arrows’ on ‘Ellen’


Macklemore has been laying low while he records a new album, but the Seattle rapper made a special appearance on Wednesday’s “Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Dressed in a fringe vest and wide-brimmed hat, the Grammy-winning MC joined his friend Fences to perform their collaboration “Arrows.”

The song will appear on Fences’ upcoming debut Lesser Oceans, which hits stores on January 13.

T.I. Talks ‘Paperwork’ on ‘The View’


Fresh from a late night in the studio, T.I. paid an early morning visit to the ladies of “The View” on Wednesday. The dapper rapper, who is a frequent guest on the talk show, held court with Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie Perez, who happens to be a huge fan.

“In all due respect to your wife Tiny and to my husband, you are fine as hell. Can I get an amen?” said Rosie.

A blushing Tip spoke about keeping tabs on his six kids while working on his new album Paperwork, due October 21. He revealed that he recorded a whopping 250 songs including the Pharrell-assisted title track.

Mary J. Blige and Disclosure Perform on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

Mary J. Blige linked up with her pals from across the pond, Disclosure, for an electrifying performance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Thursday. The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul graced the outdoor stage alongside the electro duo while belting out the remix to “F for You” off Disclosure’s album Settle.

“Make some noise for my boys Disclosure tonight,” MJB told the crowd.

She worked with the brothers on her upcoming album The London Sessions, which also features Sam Smith, Emeli Sandé, and Naughty Boy.

André Benjamin Talks Jimi Hendrix Biopic on ‘Letterman’

With the film now in theaters, André Benjamin continued his promo tour in support of the Jimi Hendrix biopic Jimi: All Is By My Side. Following appearances on “Ellen” and “Queen Latifah,” the OutKast rapper stopped by “The Late Show with David Letterman” on Thursday. He admitted to being nervous about taking on the role, and even had doubts while he was filming.

“There was times when I was like, ‘Man, I think I’ve done more than I can handle,’” said Dre.

He didn’t discover the rocker until his late teens/early 20s after watching Apocalypse Now. “As a black kid, I grew up on rap and all that kind of stuff, so Hendrix was just like an image, like this wild, big-haired image,” he said. “I didn’t know anything about guitars either ’cause when I was coming up, you just didn’t see black people with guitars.”
