Alicia Keys Talks Pregnancy, Blended Families, & Children's Book on 'Wendy'
In between preparing for her second child and juggling her music career, Alicia Keys paid a visit to “The Wendy Williams Show” on Wednesday to promote her new children’s book. The pregnant songstress said that she is due at the end of December, but wouldn’t reveal the baby’s gender (although Wendy tried it).
She also gushed about her husband of four years, Swizz Beatz. “We’ve known each other forever, so I think that’s always the thing that kinda makes us feel like we just have kindred spirits.”
In September, she threw a Coming to America-themed birthday bash for Swizz’s 36th birthday. “It’s fun because I always want to outdo him and he always wants to outdo me,” said Alicia.
When asked if she wants more kids, she replied, “I don’t know. We should probably get through this one first.”
Swizz’s ex-wife Mashonda and Alicia were able to put aside their differences and blend their families for the sake of their children. “It’s about the kids, and so when everybody is able to be an adult, which we all are able to be, there’s actually a beautiful value about the way we can influence each other’s lives and the lives of the kids,” she said.
This week she released her children’s book Blue Moon: From the Journals of Mama Mae and LeeLee. “We really modeled the relationship after myself and my grandmother,” explained Alicia.
Wendy also presented the hot mama with a sparkly onesie for her baby, who may arrive on New Year’s Eve.
