Big Sean Scores His First No. 1 Album on Billboard 200

  /  03.04.2015

Big Sean is feeling way up. The Detroit rapper has scored his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200.

His third LP Dark Sky Paradise, which features the E-40-assisted hit “I Don’t F**k With You,” sold 173,000 copies in its first week, according to Billboard. Of that number, 139,000 copies were pure album sales.

It also marks Sean’s best sales week ever, besting the 87,000 copies of his 2011 debut Finally Famous (No. 3). His sophomore album, 2013’s Hall of Fame, debuted and peaked at No. 3 with 72,000.

Dark Sky Paradise is the third No. 1 album for G.O.O.D. Music following Common’s Finding Forever in 2007 and Kanye West’s Yeezus in 2013.

Drake’s mixtape If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late falls 2-4 in its third week on the chart with 99,000 units, bringing its three-week total to 683,000.

Chris Brown and Tyga’s joint LP Fan of a Fan: The Album opens at No. 7 with 67,000. It becomes the seventh top 10 for Brown, and the third for Tyga.
