Big Sean Brings Out Eminem and Lil Wayne at Homecoming Concert
Big Sean put on for his city at his “Finding Paradise” homecoming concert on Friday. During the nearly two-hour show at Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena, the G.O.O.D. Music rapper was joined by his famous friends including Jhené Aiko, DeJ Loaf, Lil Wayne, and Eminem.
According to Billboard, DeJ Loaf hit the stage for a medley of “Try Me,” “Be Real,” and “Back Up,” while D-town’s own Mike Posner joined Sean for “Smoke N Drive” and his 2010 single “Cooler Than Me.” Jhené Aiko delivered their pair of collaborations, “Beware” and “I Know.”
The crowd went wild when Weezy hopped on stage, blasting through a series of hits including “A Milli,” “F**k You,” “Love Me,” “How Many Times,” and “Deep.”
For the grand finale, Sean brought out DeJ Loaf, Royce da 5’9″, Danny Brown, Trick Trick, and Eminem for the hometown anthem “Detroit vs. Everybody” off the Shady XV compilation. Sporting a white Run-D.M.C. hoodie, Em delivered his spitfire verse before flashing the middle finger.
“Congratulations to Detroit’s own @bigsean on his sold-out homecoming show! Honored to be a part of it,” said Eminem.
Sean described the magical evening as the “greatest night of my life.” “What just happened here is you can be from this city, you can be from anywhere in the world and have your dreams come true,” he told the crowd. “[It’s] that moment when all your dreams in the world come true.”
Proceeds from the concert went to the Sean Anderson Foundation charity.
