New Music: Gucci Mane & Lil Wayne - 'Oh Lord'

  /  09.29.2016

Prayers for a Gucci Mane and Lil Wayne collaboration have been answered. The rappers team up on “Oh Lord” off The Birth of a Nation soundtrack.

Over thumping drums, Guwop rhymes about freedom with historical references. “Depressions, recessions,” he raps. “The past, and the present / From slavery to segregation, I still ride with my brethren / Take these shackles up off me.”

Tunechi follows with bars about his Cash Money beef, religion, and financial freedom.

“I gotta feed the family,” he spits. “But I had to leave the family / I cut off C-M-B, I’m an amputee / But I’ll never leave Christianity.”

The Birth of a Nation soundtrack is slated to arrive tomorrow (Sept. 30) while the film about Nat Turner’s historic slave rebellion lands in theaters Oct. 7.
