Drake Breaks Twitch Record While Playing Fortnite With Ninja

  /  03.15.2018

Drake is used to breaking musical records, but on Wednesday (March 14), the Toronto rapper shattered a different kind of record on Twitch, the video gaming and live streaming platform.

After tweeting that he would be playing the popular Fortnite video game with Ninja, one of the most prominent Twitch users, Drizzy amassed quite a live viewership, reaching more than 600,000 at one point. The previous record had been 388,000, held by another user, Dr DisRespect, according to CNET.

It was a star-studded occasion. Travis Scott and NFL star JuJu Smith-Schuster joined the 6 God on the stream, while Logic and Lil Yachty were in line for the game, as well, according to Metro UK.

Drake made several revelations during the livestream. He announced that he no longer eats meat, but that he doesn’t mind pineapple on pizza. He also went on to say that he’s been playing Fortnite for about two months, using it as an escape from 20-hour recording sessions for his next album.

Twitch celebrated Drake’s arrival with a variety of memes centered around his lyrics and video games. At one point, they superimposed Ninja on a photo of Drizzy and LeBron James’ face. “No new friends,” reads the meme. “OK. One new friend.”
