Nipsey Hussle Family Looking for Large Venue to Host Memorial

  /  04.05.2019

Nipsey Hussle was an icon in his community and hip-hop, and his family is making sure that those who loved him are able to pay their respects.

According to TMZ, Nipsey’s family members are planning a public memorial and are searching for a venue that can accommodate a massive crowd. They are scouting locations but their choices are limited due to size. The family has reportedly passed on venues with 2,000 seats and want to find one that can accommodate over 15,000 people.

The only two venues in L.A. that can host such a large crowd would be The Forum in Inglewood and Staples Center in downtown L.A., where Michael Jackson’s memorial service was held in 2009.

Nipsey’s family wants to make sure that everyone who wants to celebrate his life will be able to. He had a profound impact on his community and his murder has resonated in L.A. and beyond. Thousands of fans have gathered for candlelight vigils outside his Marathon Clothing store, where he was fatally shot on Sunday.

In the wake of his passing, tributes have been pouring in from fans, friends, and those closest to him including his girlfriend Lauren London, his brother, and his bodyguard, who announced plans to retire following the tragedy.

Nipsey’s peers including Drake, Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, and Tyga have also paid tribute to the West Coast legend during their live shows.
