Offset Won't Be Charged for Phone Smackdown

Offset has reached a resolution in his phone smackdown case.

The Migos rapper won’t be charged for allegedly breaking a fan’s phone while shopping at a Target store, according to TMZ. Police in Sandy Springs, Ga. say the case has been closed by the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors decided not to pursue charges against Offset after the rapper and the fan, Junior Gibbons, reached a mutual agreement on their own. Gibbons previously said that he simply wanted Offset to pay for a new phone.

A felony arrest warrant was issued for Offset after Gibbons filed a police report. Gibbons filmed video of Offset smacking the device out of his hand and onto the floor, shattering the screen. “Get the f*** out of my face,” he reportedly said before knocking the phone out of Gibbons’ hand.

While he won’t go to court for the phone smackdown, Offset was previously charged with three counts following an incident in July 2018 where he was arrested for allegedly making an illegal lane change.
