Rich the Kid Taps Nicki Minaj, Post Malone for New Album 'Boss Man'

Rich the Kid is showing who’s the boss on his new album.

The newly-engaged rapper recently sat down with Rap-Up where he revealed details about his upcoming two-part album Boss Man, the first of which is due next month. “When I was working on my album, I was just feeling like I’m the CEO of my own label,” said the 27-year-old Rich Forever CEO. “It’s people that tell me what to do, like they can give me their opinion, but it’s not motherfuckers that’s telling me what to do.”

You can expect “a lot of bangers” on Part 1 of the project. He has already started recording Part 2, which will have a “more serious” tone.

The all-star guest list includes Lil Baby, Future, DaBaby (“Sick”), and Post Malone, who appears on a “next level” collaboration called “V12,” which he calls “one of my favorite songs on the album.” According to a recent Instagram Story, the song may also feature Drake.

“We’ve actually known each other for like about five, six years, when he was in Atlanta. We caught back up years down the road,” he said of Post, who also produced the track. “Post Malone got beats and they’re fire.”

Plus, he has collaborated with Nicki Minaj on a Smash David-produced song called “Not Sorry.” “I just had this song that was perfect to get her on and then she just killed it, this monster verse,” he said of working with the Queen. “She’s like one of the first to start the wave for all the other female rappers.”

Boss Man, which will be Rich’s first release on Republic Records, has already spawned singles including the Quavo-assisted “That’s Tuff” and “Money Talk” featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
