2 Chainz Takes Over Tiny Desk (Home) Concert

  /  02.17.2021

Tity Boi takes over the Tiny Desk.

Just a day after Rick Ross showed out with a nostalgic set, 2 Chainz celebrated Black excellence with what he calls the “biggest Tiny Desk performance.” Live from his high-end nail studio Pamper in ATL, a dapper Toni opened his five-song set with “Southside Hov” and “Vampire” off his latest album So Help Me God!, while getting a champagne pedicure.

Joined by his band, he continued with 2017’s “Good Drank,” followed by his 2012 hit “I’m Different.” He capped off the 20-minute performance with “Grey Area” while saluting Black icons including Martin Luther King Jr., Tyler Perry, and Diddy, as well as influential Black women in the community.

“There are a lot of people who have really been moving the needle forward for Black people, and they have been moving the needle for some time,” said 2 Chainz. “That’s truly a treat, but Black History Month is just like, 28 days just ain’t enough to celebrate what we’ve done for the country, what we’ve done for humanity.”

Tiny Desk’s Black History Month celebration continues all month long with performances from Rick Ross, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Giveon.
