Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar stopped by Comedy Central’s “Colbert Report” on Tuesday as part of the show’s finale week. TDE’s golden child, who scored two Grammy nominations for “i,” debuted an untitled new song and went down in history as the final musical guest.

Wearing his hair in dreads like his “SNL” appearance last month, he performed the powerful track with help from Bilal, Thundercat, Anna Wise, and Terrace Martin.

“What the black man say? / Tell ’em we don’t die, we don’t die, we multiply,” declares Kendrick over the saxophone.

K-Dot has been in the studio finishing his sophomore album, which is expected to arrive early next year.

He also sat down to discuss his Compton roots, Dr. Dre, fame, and why he prefers to be called a writer instead of a rapper.

“I pride myself on that. It’s more storytelling than actually rhyming words together,” he explained.

Watch King Kendrick world premiere his new song (begins at 4:05).
