New Music: DeJ Loaf - 'You Don't Know Me' + 'I Got Problems'

  /  08.19.2015

DeJ Loaf has liberated two new brand new songs—”You Don’t Know Me” and “I Got Problems.” Both are produced by her long-time collaborator DDS, who helmed her effervescent breakout hit “Try Me.” Here, he’s giving her the same kind of sounds to work with, and she runs with it.

“Being broke wasn’t funny, I ain’t never find humor in it,” she spits on “You Don’t Know Me.” DeJ always keeps it real–she’s unafraid to compare her current successes—”20 for a show,” “on tour with Nicki” to her past struggles.

On “I Got Problems,” DeJ bosses up and says R.I.P. to the competition. “I’ma do me and be all I can be,” she declares.

Canadian interviewer Nardwuar also caught up with DeJ during her tour stop with Nicki in Vancouver to chat about her love for Detroit rapper Bo$$ and the late J Dilla. Known for his digging skills, he manages to find an old YouTube video she made back in 2011 called “Zaddy Get That Big Zick Offa Me.” Watch DeJ come face-to-face with the Human Serviette.
