Stream Kid Cudi's Album 'Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin''

Kid Cudi is out to slay with his long-awaited album Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’.

The Cleveland rapper-crooner’s star-studded sixth LP features 19 tracks, with appearances from Travis Scott and Willow Smith, plus two collaborations apiece with Pharrell and André 3000.

It’s been a long journey for PP&DS. In April, Cudder alluded to this album being one of his final releases.

“I’m about to show ni**as what’s nice and then I’m retiring,” he said. “I’ll go off into the woods and chop trees for fire on some lumberjack shit. I’ll write poems and kick it with my daughters. We’ll ride horses. Fuck these ni**as. I’ll have no more energy for them. This is it.”

However, delays would plague the release. Originally slated for September, the project was pushed back “due to some minor sample clearances.” The following month, Cudder was admitted into rehab for depression and suicidal urges, leaving Passion’s fate unclear.

In the midst of all of this, Cudi found himself in rap feuds. He and Drake went back and forth with jabs. Meanwhile, Lupe Fiasco fired at him, calling the Man on the Moon Ducky the Fade for refusing to fight him.

Through it all, he unleashed songs like “Frequency,” “Baptized in Fire” featuring Travis Scott, and “Surfin” with Pharrell.

Now, finally, the project is out digitally, while physical copies arrive Dec. 23.
