Tamar Braxton Addresses Vincent Herbert Spousal Assault Arrest

Tamar Braxton and Vincent Herbert’s divorce saga led to an arrest on Christmas Day.

Herbert was arrested for spousal assault over the holiday and released on $20,000 bail, according to TMZ. However, Braxton says the arrest stemmed from alcohol and jealousy and not physical abuse.

“While celebrating the Christmas holiday as a family, after a few drinks and some jealousy, things got a bit out of hand, which is common for most families during the holidays,” Tamar told the website, adding, “There was no physical interaction between Vince and I on Christmas. While I do not appreciate his lack of respect for our family and him allegedly impregnating another woman, I cannot paint him as a vicious abuser.”

Afterwards, Braxton posted a video of herself listening to Beyoncé’s “Irreplaceable,” prompting viewers to think it was about Herbert, a theory she vehemently denied shortly afterwards. “That post was not for Vincent Herbert,” she said. “I still love Vincent Herbert. He’s my best friend. He’s my son’s father. I will always hold him down and I will always love him. What will be will be.”

Despite all of this, Braxton had some less than kind words for Herbert and the woman that is allegedly having his next child. “Vincent Herbert is Having a baby and his Whore decided to let me know about it tonight,” she wrote. “That stupid broke ass whore should check public records on Christmas before she goes through with it!! He called back (despite of his protection order) begging and lying…..like he’s hanging out with joe and Rocxi (from BET) oh yeah.. that’s creditable.. no shade.. however, before u judge me know the FACTS!! He’s a real piece of work!” Braxton ended the post by calling him a “liar.” “2018 is a FRESH start,” she wrote, “and if i can leave this liar u can leave yours too.”

Tamar filed for divorce from Herbert in October following nine years of marriage. Less than one month later, her mother claimed that she feared Herbert would hurt her daughter.

Shortly afterwards, Braxton revealed the reason for the divorce. “I told myself I would do whatever it took to keep my family together,” she explained, “to see a smile on someone who has seen us smile on their face hoping we could offer them hope,faith,Love& dignity that I once possessed. But the truth is all of those things are NOT within the marriage of Tamar & Vince…at least not anymore.”
