2 Chainz Talks Manchester Attack, 'Pretty Girls Like Trap Music' on 'The View'

In the wake of the terror attack that resulted in 22 deaths and many more injuries at Ariana Grande’s Manchester concert this week, other musicians are speaking out.

Appearing on “The View” on Wednesday (May 24), 2 Chainz opened up about the tragedy. “I think that situation is very unfortunate,” he said. “When people go to concerts, they feel like it’s a place to get away. For some kids, it’s their first time being away from their parents, and for parents, you hope they have a good time, get back home safely.”

The Atlanta rapper went on to say that the Manchester Arena incident, which is being investigated by police, could affect artists of all genres in various ways.

“This is a concert where there shouldn’t be that much resistance,” he said. “It should be safe. I know a lot of the content from hip-hop rappers, you just assume, even the venue’s insurance is just different. With this situation, it’s a trickle down effect. I don’t know where the mindset is for her. It’s just a real unfortunate situation.”

On Tuesday, Grande suspended her “Dangerous Woman World Tour” and tweeted that she felt “broken” by what was being called the deadliest terror attack on British soil since the 2005 London bombings.

“from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry,” she tweeted. “i don’t have words.”

During his visit to “The View,” 2 Chainz also revealed what fans can expect from his upcoming album Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, which is due June 16. “You can expect growth and maturation from 2 Chainz. It’s still edgy content,” he said. “Good girls used to like the bad guys, and that’s what this album is about.”
