DaBaby Dropped From Lollapalooza Lineup After Homophobic Comments

  /  08.01.2021

DaBaby has been cut from the Lollapalooza bill.

In the wake of his homophobic comments, festival organizers have removed him from tonight’s lineup, which he was supposed to headline. Lollapalooza made the announcement on Sunday morning, just hours before he was set to close out the four-day festival in Chicago.

“Lollapalooza was founded on diversity, inclusivity, respect, and love. With that in mind, DaBaby will no longer be performing at Grant Park tonight,” read a statement on Twitter.

Young Thug, who was already on the bill, has now been moved into DaBaby’s slot on the Bud Light Seltzer Stage at 9 p.m.

The decision comes in the wake of DaBaby’s onstage rant at Rolling Loud Miami last weekend where he made homophobic and sexist remarks. Since then, he has come under fire on social media as well as from his fellow entertainers including Dua Lipa, Madonna, Elton John, and Questlove. He has since apologized for his “insensitive” comments about HIV/AIDS.

It was rumored that he had also been dropped from the Parklife festival in Manchester, England. However, organizers say he pulled out of the festival months ago when events were being canceled because of COVID.

DaBaby is currently slated to perform at a series of other festivals this year including the Governors Ball, iHeartRadio Music Festival, Austin City Limits, and Day N Vegas.
