New Music: Slaughterhouse – ‘Party’

Party

Slaughterhouse is back and they still don’t give a f**k. The Shady Records crew—Joe Budden, Royce Da 5’9″, Joell Ortiz, and Crooked I—give the middle finger to the competition on their teaser track “Party,” spitting menacing rhymes over the Cardiak and Just Blaze production.

The group is currently in the studio working on the follow-up to 2012′s Welcome to: Our House.

“I think the guys just dug a lot deeper, it’s a very introspective album, very melancholy,” said Budden. “The lyricism is there, of course, the passion is there, all the things that this group was built on are still present.”

They have also announced dates for their “Glasshouse” North American tour, which kicks off in March.

Listen to them “Party” and see a tour itinerary below.

TIME, Entertainment Weekly, & Rolling Stone Name Best Music of 2013

Yeezus

Kanye West declared his godliness, Lorde ruled the charts, and Miley Cyrus twerked her way into living rooms in 2013. As the year comes to a close, the critics once again reveal their choices for the best in pop music. TIME, Entertainment Weekly, and Rolling Stone comb through their playlists and pick the top albums and singles of the year.

Kanye West’s Yeezus may not have been nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammys, but it was ranked No. 1 by TIME and EW. “Has there ever been another great album this bitter, this entitled, this abrasively unsatisfied—or this self-aware about it?” asked TIME‘s Douglas Wolk.

On the singles front, Daft Punk and Pharrell’s “Get Lucky” topped all three singles lists, while Big Sean’s “Control” scored TIME‘s No. 3 spot thanks to Kendrick Lamar’s explosive verse.

From Doris to Yeezus, see the critics’ selections below.
